Maritime Sunset
by Kathleen O'Bryan

pastel on black paper
17" x 29"
24" x 36"   $2,800 framed

“A brilliant sunset floats above the ocean’s water.  Mostly imagined, I tried to place the whitest light reflecting against the darkest sky.  There is not blue like that of the undiluted pastel medium.”

Ukumehame Revealed
by Kathleen O'Bryan

pastel on black paper
17" x 29"
24" x 36"   $2,800 framed

“Driving to Lahaina one morning, I passed Ukumehame Gulch at a time when light and shadow were defining formations I had never seen before. Such a perfect moment of form revealed is an artist’s dream come true.”

Maui Pine
by Kathleen O'Bryan

pastel on black paper
21" x 29"
28" x 37"   $3,200 framed

“I love the geometry of the pineapple field patterns.  They are so familiar to those of us, and yet they will be disappearing as the transition areas between beach and volcano fill with new housing development.  So, I will paint them as much as I can, while they remain.”

The Lahaina Confluence
by Kathleen O'Bryan

pastel on black paper
21" x 29"
28" x 37"   $3,200 framed

“We spend so much time on the island looking makai instead of looking into the land.  In this view of the valleys cut by streams long ago, we can also see the confluence of human cultivation moving into the natural form….layers and degrees of confluence.”
