Viewpoints Gallery in Makawao proudly presents the first annual PAPOH Signature Members show. The Plein Air Painters Of Hawai'i is an organization whose mission is to foster and promote the advancement of plein air painting in Hawai'i.

The goal of Jan Bushart, founding member of PAPOH, has been to create a statewide organization to hold paint-outs, exhibits, provide opportunities to share locations and paint together on the different islands. It is her hope to attract the public's attention to this most honest approach to painting. Signature Members have been juried in by John Cosby, one of the Founding Board Members of the prestigious Laguna Plein Air Painters Association, an Artist member of California Art Club and an Artist member of Oil Painters of America. This show will also include Artist Members that are juried in by Skip Whitcomb the two-time winner of both the Artists' Choice Award at the Buffalo Bill Art Show and the Red Smith Memorial Award at the National Museum of Wildlife Art in Jackson, Wyoming. Several awards will be given at the opening reception on April 15th at 6 pm. Please join us and decide for yourself who should be the recipient of the People's Award.
