This show is Julie's response to the nature around her. Thus, the life of a banana plant reflected in leaves torn by the wind, constantly changing, emerges in the form seen in Catching the Breeze (left). Julie says she is more in tune with nature on Maui than any place she's ever been. According to Julie, this show is her sense of form, color, movement – anything that occurs in nature – which emerges from her hand without intellectual interpretation.

Julie's seemingly eclectic approach to art always delights and mystifies her followers. They never know what to expect from her. More important than the "product," it is the spirit of play and the joy of discovery that drive her.
