Margaret's language of art began with a degree in viscosity printing. She invented a process by which she could print multiple series of impressions of plants and leaves on paper on an etching press. Margaret's paintings, as well as original prints, are about our environment here in Hawaii, often about regeneration after volcanic destruction. The paintings of a printmaker, these works are often worked over, scraped back and built up, level over level. Sometimes Margaret may enlarge the subject imagery into a big scale painting as she re-creates the scene in her studio. |
