Ann has studied art on Maui for over 30 years with master painter and color theorist Dick Nelson. Dick asked her to assist him with teaching his Color Theory classes because of her deep comprehension of the interaction of color. TriHue Watercolor is her preferred media. The technique includes layering the three primary colors to create all other colors. It is an exciting and challenging process that lends itself well to Ann’s experimental, abstract and non-representational work, which often includes visual illusions and hidden treasures. A retired veterinarian, Ann uses left and right brain approaches to create visual excitement and work that intends to engage at many levels.
