Beth Cooper was born and raised in Kailua, Hawai’i. The beach and ocean are her playground. After graduating with a Fine Arts Degree in Textile Design, Beth became a Wild Land Fire Fighter, then a School Teacher for at-risk kids in lock-up, and middle school students. After living on the Big Island for 23 years, Beth moved to Maui to be a full time artist.
Her colorful pieces of art make you smile. Her style is fauvism, a style of painting with vivid expressionistic and non-naturalistic use of color. She works with paints, wax, fabric, linoleum cut printing, as well as and wood working. Beth makes all of her wood frames. Color is the key ingredient in all of her art.
